Prof. Dr. Gobert von Skrbensky

As a specialist in trauma surgery and orthopaedics, I have specialised in sports orthopaedics and sports medicine to help my patients maintain and restore pain-free mobility and performance. Important goals of any treatment are a high quality of life and the best possible functional ability during work and leisure time.

The basis for an orthopaedic treatment is a comprehensive anamnesis and a great deal of empathy for the different needs of each patient, be they professional football and polo players, recreational athletes, ballet dancers or musicians. My many years of experience in the treatment of a wide variety of diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system, the use of state-of-the-art treatment procedures and surgical techniques, flexible scheduling and the cooperation with a highly competent team ensure comprehensive and professional treatment at the highest, up-to-date medical level.

The range of services extends from the surgical treatment of injuries and malpositions in the knee (meniscus and cruciate ligament injuries, patella luxations, cartilage damage, injuries to the collateral ligaments, repositioning osteotomies), hip (pincer and CAM impingement), of the shoulder (dislocations, rotator cuff rupture) and the ankle and wrist (instabilities) via arthroscopic treatment for rhizarthrosis and conservative therapies such as ACP to the fitting of state-of-the-art knee, hip and shoulder prostheses.

A special range of services resulting from the combination of traumatology and orthopaedics is the correction of malpositions after incorrect bone fracture healing: Here, the result can be optimised by correcting the bone axis and extending the leg; thus, joint overload is avoided and function is restored by bone extension.

Operations are carried out at Wiener Privatklinik and Rudolfinerhaus. My team and I take over the entire accident and operation management, so that you can experience personal and needs-oriented care from acute care to follow-up treatment and rehabilitation and return to your everyday and sports activities as quickly as possible without pain.
